February is Black History Month and Slippery Rock University has numerous programs planned to mark the occasion.
This year’s theme of Black History: Powerful Beyond Measure will explore the achievements and growth of the African American culture.
Even though people are not able to gather in person this year, activities will include a trivia game on Zoom Friday at 7 p.m. as well as a virtual cooking lesson focusing on “soul food” on Zoom on February 11th.
Other activities sponsored by SRU’s Office of Inclusive Excellence this month include a virtual poetry writing workshop on February 13th and a virtual vigil on February 22nd to honor the lives lost during last summer’s nationwide racial unrest.
