Move-in day for first year Slippery Rock University students is Thursday and the school community is helping with the transition.
More than 1,500 first-year and transfer SRU students will move into residence halls between 8 a.m. and 3 p.m. at designated times designed to limit campus traffic and maximize efficiency of the process.
Volunteers will be on hand to help and students are advised to mark all luggage with clear identifying labels. Students should also display residence hall tags on vehicle rearview mirrors and bring a small dolly or cart for bulky items if necessary.
Thursday will also kick-off Week of Welcome activities for new students to get acclimated to the SRU community. A hypnotist will perform at Morrow Field House at 8 p.m. A carnival is planned for 8 to 10 p.m. Friday at Old Thompson Field with live music, games, rides, and carnival food. An Involvement Fair will take place September 5th on the Quad.
Upperclass students will move in Sunday followed by the start of SRU’s Fall Semester on Monday. Visit the Office of Student Affairs or the SRU Week of Welcome webpage for more information.
