An annual street festival and a visit from an international soccer star are planned for this weekend in and around the Slippery Rock area.
First, the 17th annual Villagefest free street festival is planned for 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday at The Village at Slippery Rock. All sorts of activities are planned for the day including a farmers market, sporting events, live music, crafts, and many vendors. Visitors are also welcome to enjoy a wide variety of food or participate in children’s activities.
SRU’s annual Whiteout game is also planned for Saturday at 6 p.m. at Mihalik-Thompson Stadium. Official 2019 Whiteout shirts are available at the bookstore or the stadium before the game while supplies last.
Then on Sunday, SRU’s University Program Board is bringing Alex Morgan, co-captain of the U.S. Women’s National Soccer Team to Morrow Field House at 2 p.m. This hour long event will include a moderated discussion as well as a time for questions from the audience. Tickets are $5 for SRU students with a limit of two per person and $15 for the general public with a limit of four per person. Tickets can be purchased online through SRU’s website.
