Butler City residents are participating in the process to decide if certain brick roads will be re-bricked or paved after upcoming work.
The city was recently informed by PA American Water that 3rd Street needs to be dug up for the installation of a new water line.
Since it is easier and more cost effective to pave the street instead of replacing the bricks after the work is completed, city officials decided to poll the residents of the street to see what they wanted to do.
A total of 41 letters were sent out seeking feedback and 16 responses were received. 10 of those responses indicted that paving the street was the preferred choice once the work is done later this summer.
The City has also directed PA American water crews to make repairs to bricks on Fulton Street between Cedar and Franklin that have not settled correctly after recent work that took place on that roadway.
