South Butler School District is looking for their next Buildings and Grounds manager.
By unanimous vote at their Wednesday night meeting, the school board accepted the resignation of Richard Lapishka effective immediately. Lapishka had been with the district for about two years and no reason was given for the resignation.
The board approved the hiring of Gary Zang as interim Buildings and Grounds manager at a rate of $300 per day. Zang is the retired Director of Buildings and Grounds at Pine Richland and he is expected to work about three days each week.
This arrangement will continue until South Butler is able to hire a permanent replacement. Interviews are expected to begin soon with no hard salary figure attached to the position.
