Recent facility testing in the South Butler County School District has returned results within acceptable levels.
According to Superintendent Dr. David Foley, the district has had both air testing for mold as well as water testing done for lead through the summer months.
After experiencing elevated levels of certain kinds of molds in some rooms at the beginning of last year, maintenance crews left air conditioners running at low levels through most of the summer. A couple of rooms in particular will receive extra attention and more testing in the future but no additional corrective actions are necessary.
During the summer of 2017, South Butler experienced elevated levels of lead in some water tests but two years later, none of the most recent tests returned anything close to the level at which corrective action is required.
