The South Butler School District is sharing details about several security issues that were addressed earlier this week.
According to a letter from new superintendent Dr. David Foley, a knife was found in the middle school leading to charges against a student for having a weapon on school property as well as school discipline.
In a different incident, administration was notified that a high school student was in possession of a knife. School police confiscated the knife and the student is facing charges as well as school discipline.
Finally, Thursday administration was informed that a threat had been made against the middle school and a particular student on Tuesday. The threat was taken seriously and school police notified state police. The student was disciplined by the school.
An additional school police officer has been added to the South Butler School Police Unit.
