A South Butler County School District administrator has received statewide recognition.
South Butler Middle School Assistant Principal Kim Fitzgerald has been named Pennsylvania Assistant Principal of the Year by the Pennsylvania Principals Association and was congratulated by the South Butler School Board Wednesday night.
Fitzgerald was nominated for this honor by Middle School Principal Dr. Tyler Vargo which also involved the writing of essays and the involvement of a community member as well as a student. Superintendent Dr. David Foley called Fitzgerald “a great leader and a great communicator” who “clearly puts students first.”
Fitzgerald spent time as a principal in a charter program before joining South Butler in 2018. Fitzgerald will next enter consideration for the title of National Assistant Principal of the Year.
