A special session called in Harrisburg to help victims of childhood sexual abuse has not gotten off to a good start.
We reported yesterday that Speaker Mark Rozzi and Governor Tom Wolf were calling a special legislative session in order to vote on a constitutional amendment that would provide victims of childhood sexual abuse a chance to sue their abusers regardless of the statute of limitations.
Rozzi says Republicans and Democrats are too far apart right now.
“This sort of partisan divide is what has plagued Pennsylvania politics for far too long. Party politics must take a back seat to saving the lives of survivors of childhood sexual assault,” Rozzi said.
Rozzi says he’s creating a work group of Republicans and Democrats to hopefully find a way forward.
