Two local women are recovering following an accident in Slippery Rock earlier this week.
According to State Police, 26-year-old Lynette Stoughton of Slippery Rock was driving on Slippery Rock Road just after 3 p.m. Monday when she swerved to miss a squirrel.
Stoughton’s vehicle went into the opposing lane of traffic and struck a vehicle driven by 55-year-old Veronica Atwell, also of Slippery Rock. Atwell was taken by Slippery Rock EMS to Butler Memorial Hospital for treatment of an unknown injury. Stoughton sustained a minor injury but did not need taken to the hospital.
Stoughton has been charged with a traffic violation.
