Wednesday is National Fossil Day and Slippery Rock University is marking the occasion with a presentation from one of the leading scientists who studies fossils today.
Senior Paleontologist for the U.S. National Park Service Vincent Santucci will visit a number of SRU classes before the event open to the public at 12:30 p.m. in the Quad.
Santucci’s talk will include fossil displays such as a saber-toothed tiger and the chance for those attending to earn a badge and become Junior Paleontologists.
This event is sponsored by the Park Ranger Society and the University’s Geology Club. National Fossil Day was established in 2009 and includes programs like this one across the country.
