If you find yourself on Butler County’s Slippery Rock University campus on Friday, you might see a lot of green and white- even more than usual.
Friday, Aug. 30 is national College Colors Day to mark the 150th anniversary of college football. The theme for this year’s event is “College Colors Never Fade,” which, according to organizers, “promotes the differentiating part of college and the staying power of college football.”
SRU fans are encouraged to wear Rock apparel and share photos on social media using the hashtag #CollegeColorsDay. This year marks the 15th year of the College Colors campaign, which was created by the Collegiate Licensing Company, a combined organization of IMG College Licensing and Learfield Licensing Partners.
More than 195 million college fans nationwide are expected to represent their schools in recognition of College Colors Day.
