Slippery Rock University is hosting a global warming town hall tonight in an effort to bring awareness to climate change.
It’s a part of a global event called “24 Hours of Reality” that aims to address climate change through community education and involvement.
The panelists at tonight’s town hall will discuss how climate change is impacting Western PA. Dr. Julie Snow is a professor at SRU with a specialty in atmospheric chemistry and climate change.
“We’re hoping to address questions that people have about climate change in this region,” Snow said. “I think a lot of people have misconceptions that climate change isn’t impacting Western PA. That’s actually not the case, there’s quite a bit going on in terms of our agriculture, our forests, and it will impact us in numerous ways.”
This free event inside the Spotts World Culture Building begins at 7 p.m. and is open to anyone in the community who would like to attend, learn more, and ask questions.
