Slippery Rock University is taking the first steps to establish a committee as they search for the next president.
Three members of their council of trustees will help lead the search, with former Butler City Councilman Jeff Smith serving as the chair of the committee.
Matt Lautman and Elise Michaux will also be on the search committee.
Smith previously told us that the university will bring in a consultant to help with the process. He hopes that candidates can apply starting this summer.
Current SRU President Dr. Bill Behre said he would retire in June 2023.
