The NCAA has announced 36 student-athletes from across the nation have been nominated for the 2019 Harlon Hill Trophy as the Division II College Football Player of the Year. It is the Division II equivalent of the Heisman Trophy.
There are 10 nominees from Super Region One alone, including Slippery Rock University quarterback Roland Rivers III. Rivers III leads the nation in four offensive categories.
The top two players from each of the four NCAA regions advance to the national ballot after voting by the sports information directors of the 167 NCAA Division II football-playing institutions complete their voting Monday, December 2nd.
This weekend’s SRU vs Shepherd game will feature two Harlon Hill nominees – in Rivers III and Shepherd quarterback Tyson Bagent.
Also nominated are IUP quarterback Quinton Maxwell and Kutztown quarterback Colin DeGalbo.
The 2019 winner will be announced Friday, December 20th.
