Slippery Rock University quarterback Roland Rivers III has been named one of eight finalists for the Harlon Hill Award, presented to the top Division II football player in the country. Rivers III leads the country in four statistical categories, and is the only Division II player to record over 4,000 yards in 11 games during the regular season. He has thrown for more than 300 yards in eight games this season and has thrown at least three touchdown passes in 10 games. The Harlon Hill Trophy is the DII equivalent of the Heisman Trophy. The winner will be announced December 20th.
Rivers III will be joined by another finalist, Notre Dame running back Jaleel McLaughlin, this Saturday when The Rock hosts the Falcons in their NCAA Division II quarterfinal round game beginning at noon. Hear the game on The Rock Station 97.7fm beginning at 11:30am.
