A new film series is about to get underway with a goal to bridge the gap between Slippery Rock University and the Slippery Rock community.
The Slippery Rock Community Library will host the film series, which will begin on Wednesday, Jan. 30 at 3:30 p.m. with the showing of the 2008 documentary “Pray the Devil Back to Hell” about social unrest in Liberia.
A 2012 SRU graduate- who fled Liberia as a child but lost her mother in the war- will be the guest speaker following the film and leading a discussion. The new Slippery Rock Community Library is located at 465 North Main Street in Slippery Rock.
Admission to this event is free with future selections, dates and times yet to be determined. At least one film is planned per month through April.
