A Slippery Rock University student is facing drug charges after police say he walked onto a road and into the side of a car.
Daniel James Harper, 19, of Pittsburgh is facing drug possession, reckless endangerment, disorderly conduct and public drunkenness charges.
SRU police say the bizarre incident happened on Oct. 6 but charges were just filed last week. Police believe Harper was high on drugs when he walked into Harmony Road in front of the Robert A. Macoskey Center and into the side of a passing vehicle.
“(The driver) stated he was traveling south on Harmony Road when he wife stated to slow down because there’s a kid walking towards the road,” according to court documents.
Officers say there was no damage done to the vehicle but the impact folded in the passenger side mirror. Harper was taken to Grove City Medical Center for treatment of unspecified injuries.
Police found two stamp bags of suspected LSD on Harper. He also allegedly told officers he did “acid” earlier that day.
