The public is invited to attend an original collaborative performance this weekend on the campus of Slippery Rock University.
Slippery Rock University Theatre will present Medea in Methland at 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday as well as a 2 p.m. matinee on Sunday. All performances are in the University Union Multipurpose Room.
The production, written by SRU professor of theatre David Skeele, is inspired by the Greek tragedy Medea but set in contemporary Appalachia. The show is also a hybrid of a concert and a play with a live bluegrass band built into the performance.
Tickets are $14 for general admission and $12 for SRU students. A “Community Night” admission of $12 for all attendees is scheduled for the Saturday performance. This show is recommended for mature audiences only.
Tickets can be purchased at the Smith Student Information Desk, online through the SRU website, or the University Union Box Office.
