A ceremony this weekend will recognize young and recent alumni at Slippery Rock University.
The 2024 Rock Solid 10 Under 10 awards brunch is planned for 9:30 a.m. Saturday at the Smith Student Center Ballroom.
10 outstanding alumni who have graduated no more than 10 years ago will be honored for significant professional or personal accomplishments. The SRU Alumni Association website has more info.
SRU Alumni Weekend kicks off Friday and continues through Saturday with classes, tours, and food-tasting events as well as reunion celebrations and other programs for SRU alumni.
The 2024 honorees are:
- Sarah Brennan, a 2020 graduate with a degree in homeland security studies and corporate security studies, who is a physical security planner at First National Bank of Pennsylvania.
- Nick Endres, a 2014 graduate with a degree in health and physical education, is a health and physical education teacher at Hampton Middle School and head wrestling coach.
- Jeff Geibel, a 2007 and 2018 graduate with a bachelor’s and master’s degree finance, is a financial advisor for Edward Jones, after serving nearly 10 years in the military on active duty including a year in Iraq.
- Sarah Hammond, a 2016 graduate with a degree in communications, who is the legislative director with the Pennsylvania American Federation of Labor and Congress of Industrial Organizations
- Clairissa Jackman, a 2016 graduate with a degree in business management, who is a human resources information systems analyst and project manager for Marmon/Keystone.
- Jondavid Longo, a 2015 graduate with a degree in history, who is the mayor of Slippery Rock after serving six years in the U.S. Marine Corps, including a combat deployment to Afghanistan.
- Rocco Martini, a 2018 graduate with a degree in safety management, a safety specialist for Shell Polymers.
- Maria Montaro, a 2015 graduate with degrees in social work and professional studies, who is the corporate and community giving manager at the Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank.
- Alex Mowrey, a 2015 graduate with a degree in communication, who is a social media content strategist for the University of Pittsburgh.
- Claire Seasoltz, a 2017 graduate with a degree in safety management, who is a safety specialist for AstraZeneca.
