Second year students at Slippery Rock University had a rough introduction to higher education last year with all the pandemic restrictions but the school will try to make it up to them with events this year.
Six weeks of activities supporting second year students called “Year 2, SRU” will kick off later today with an event from 4 to 6 p.m. on the Quad where second year students can enjoy free dinner from a variety of food trucks as well as live music, lawn games, and giveaways.
Additional events planned as part of this program include a workshop titled “Avoiding the Second Year Slump”, outdoor movies nights, bonfires, cornhole tournaments, a ropes course at night with glow sticks, and a “speed-friending” event.
