Slippery Rock University is starting the fall semester with a freshman class size that is similar to last fall’s class.
The Class of 2023 is one student shy of 1,600. Last fall’s class included 1,554 full-time freshman students. Official enrollment numbers will be determined on the 15th day of class.
The average high school GPA of the incoming class is 3.46.
In total, SRU boasts a student size of roughly 8,500, instructed by 1,000 faculty and staff.
“The increases of new academic programs, matched with the steady increases in the quality of the students that are enrolling at SRU, are all indicators that the institution is thriving,” said Amanda Yale, chief enrollment management officer. “The numbers look great, but the real impact is felt once the students are here and everyone is strengthened by a shared learning experience.”
