Slippery Rock University is getting ready to kick off their annual Week of Welcome, or WOW, but with a different look this year.
As a result of a reduced number of residential students actually on campus this year, the WOW events will feature virtual programs will help connect first year students with the campus community.
Virtual programs planned include informational Zoom meetings as well as an online game show, hypnotist, and murder mystery event. Some in-person opportunities for engagement remain such as “Ask Me” tents, shuttles to the Grove City Outlet Mall, and an outdoor movie.
All SRU students who register and participate in WOW activities will receive a T-shirt and be eligible to win prizes including free textbooks. WOW events kick off Wednesday while SRU classes begin next week.
