The City of Butler Parks, Recreation Grounds, and Facilities Authority is considering a few expensive upgrades or improvements to Michelle Krill Field at Historic Pullman Park.
Director of Facility Operations Dean Selfridge Jr informed the board Monday night about a recent meeting he had with representatives from a turf company. Replacing the infield would cost about $150,000 but financing is available.
Selfridge also shared information about a $15,000 portable pitching mound as well as a $10,000 system called Yakkertech that places cameras on batters and pitchers that has the ability to track speed and movement of pitches or swings. Teams or players could then choose to subscribe for a fee in order to receive the information.
The Authority was not able to take any action at their meeting since they did not have a majority of seven members in attendance.
