Stanley Cup Playoffs:
–The New York Islanders held off elimination following a 3-2 victory last night over the Carolina Hurricanes. Game 6 of their series will be played Friday night on Long Island.
–Dallas shut out Minnesota 4-0 last night, giving the Stars a 3-2 series lead.
–Edmonton defeated the Los Angeles Kings 6-3. The Oilers lead that Western Conference Series 3-2.
Colorado Avalanche star defenseman Cale Makar was suspended one game for his hit on Seattle’s Jared McCann in the first period of a Game 4 loss to the Kraken on Monday. Game 5 is tonight.
NBA Playoffs:
–Denver has eliminated Minnesota in five games following a 112-109 victory last night.
–Atlanta hit a three-point shot with less than three seconds remaining to defeat Boston 119-117 and hold off elimination. The series moves back to Atlanta Thursday for Game 6, with the Celtics leading the Hawks 3-2.
–Phoenix eliminated the Los Angeles Clippers in five games following a 136-130 victory last night in Game 5.
