With Penn State University announcing that all non-essential campus events have been cancelled through April 6th due to concerns about coronavirus, a large group of students will not be competing at an annual event.
According to the state Game Commission, the statewide student archery tournament planned for Friday has been cancelled.
More than 1,000 students were registered to take part in that event through the National Archery in the Schools Program.
The Game Commission plans to contact participating schools in the coming weeks to explore if rescheduling the event may be possible.
