Pennsylvania Game Commission officials are urging homeowners to take down their bird feeders while experts investigate a mysterious illness in songbirds.
Researchers say around 70 birds in the state have either become sick or died due to the unknown illness. Some of the main symptoms have been crusting around the eyes, eye lesions, and the birds falling over or having head tremors.
So far the illness has been reported in 27 counties—mostly on the eastern side of the state.
Wildlife experts say to avoid handling any dead birds in your yard if you see any.
