The state is awarding another round of student teacher stipends, and the number of recipients is double than the first year.
More than 2,000 college students were awarded to $10,000 student teaching stipends, which compensates the soon-to-be teachers for their classroom work.
However, not all prospective teachers received the stipend. More than 4,000 people applied for the program in just the first couple of hours.
Officials say the program is aimed to help increase the amount of teachers in the state.
