Pennsylvania hunters now officially have the opportunity to make use of four additional electronic devices while hunting.
The PA Board of Game Commissioners approved the use of electronic decoys while hunting waterfowl, electronic dove decoys for hunting doves, electronically heated scent or lure dispensers, and devices that distribute ozone gas for scent-control purposes in September. Those changes became law when they were published in the most recent edition of the Pennsylvania Bulletin.
Electronic devices are generally prohibited for hunting in Pennsylvania but when the Game Commission receives requests, specific devices are reviewed. The four devices that were approved were found to have no negative impacts resulting from use.
Additional information contained in the most recent Pennsylvania Bulletin include regulatory changes about semiautomatic rifles and air guns being used for hunting small game and furbearers in areas like Allegheny County.
