Butler high school distance runner Drew Griffith has done it again, and once again, on the national stage. Griffith won the mile run during the HOKA Festival of Miles last night in St. Louis, breaking the four-minute mark with a time of 3:57.09. He becomes the 22nd high schooler to break the four-minute mile, and his time was the 6th fastest all-time.
This effort follows his two state championships last weekend at Shippensburg University – which featured a new national high school record in the 1600 meters and two state records.
Butler High School senior Drew Griffith ran a sub 4 minute mile in St. Louis last night. He becomes just the 22nd high school student to ever accomplish that feat. https://t.co/3POgF694lW
