A leader in the Pennsylvania Senate says that the state may have to push back next year’s primary due to a delay in census data.
Senate President Pro-Tempore Jake Corman, a Republican from Centre County, said last week that districts need re-drawn, but census information won’t be available until September because of the pandemic.
Corman says that interested candidates may not have enough time to make decisions about whether or not to run for office or get enough signatures for petitions.
The state House and Senate are set to hold a joint committee hearing tomorrow on the impact of the delay of Census data.
