State health leaders are ending a contract with the company that had a data breach which led to personal information being shared online.
Insight Global was responsible for handling a contact tracing for the state, but an investigation by our news partners at WPXI found that over 70,000 people had information exposed due to a data breach.
Acting Secretary of Health Alison Beam says their contract is now coming to an end.
“We terminated their contract with a 30 day transition time and so we’ll have that wrapped up at the end of June, will be the end of that contract,” Beam said.
Insight Global was paid over $23 million in that deal according to state records.
