State lawmakers are proposing how to spend federal dollars to support the development of green energy for low-income residents.
Pennsylvania received $156 million from the EPA from the Solar for All grant to help save low-to-moderate income households 20 percent on their electricity bill.
This money has yet to be spent because legislators need to approve spending. State Rep. Elizabeth Fiedler is proposing a plan that would help install solar installations for 12,000 homes over the next five years.
No state funding would be needed for this program as all the money is federal.
