Pennsylvania has more than 68 percent of their adult population now fully vaccinated, but state health officials are trying to encourage more people to get the vaccine.
Acting Physician General Dr. Denise Johnson says there are still ways to reach out to people who are hesitant to get the vaccine.
“One of the things that can really help overcome hesitancy is being able to speak with a trusted local provider. Someone like your doctor or healthcare provider, or your pharmacist who can really answer your questions about vaccine, but also discuss the impact of the vaccine and the virus,” Johnson said.
Johnson also notes that the current surge in cases and hospitalizations are impacting many people who aren’t vaccinated.
