With a newly elected Pennsylvania house of representative member, comes the potential passing of new legislation.
After Democrat Sara Inamorato resigned her seat in the house, a special election was held for her seat. The heavily Democratic area elected Democrat Lindsay Powell who was sworn in Monday. Powell’s swearing in once again gives Democrats control of the house 102-101.
But the Presidential primary date has still not be moved, and the proposed March 19 date may change again. During a House Committee meeting, a bill that moves the election to March 19 was approved and will now head to the general assembly. But Democrats, who now have full control of the house, have argued for April 2 to allow for counties more time to prepare for the election.
The general assembly did not vote on moving the Presidential Primary election yesterday but will reconvene again today.
