The Pennsylvania State House has passed a bill that aims at stopping a practice known as “speculative ticketing.”
The bill prevents ticket reselling sites, like Stub Hub, from posting event tickets even though they have not yet obtained those tickets.
Lawmakers say this is a deceptive practice that is not fair to consumers, because those tickets may never exist.
Those in favor of the bill say this is not to eliminate ticket resellers, but rather ensure that consumers aren’t left empty handed.
The House also recently passed a bill that prohibits “Grinch Bots” that purchase mass quantities of tickets and then resell them at inflated prices.
