Governor Tom Wolf and Secretary of Health Dr. Rachel Levine are instituting new limits to curb the continuing spread of COVID-19.
An announcement Monday mandates that bars and restaurants must stop alcohol sales for on-site consumption at 5 p.m. Wednesday. Indoor dining will still be permitted Wedensday night. Alcohol sales can resume Thursday at 8 a.m.
Wolf and Levine also strongly encouraged residents stay home during the Thanksgiving holiday but this is an advisory and not an order. Outdoor gatherings of more than 2,500 people and indoor gatherings of more than 500 people continue to be prohibited.
The state also issued guidance for schools as well as cleaning and social distancing guidelines for businesses. The state continues to encourage local governments and law enforcement to support the state in this effort to reduce the strain on health service providers.
