With the growing number of coronavirus cases in the Commonwealth, some have wondered if the mitigation efforts will turn into the shutdown from March.
Butler County Commissioner Kevin Boozel said the currently the state is not contemplating massive shutdowns.
“I asked if there was any indications of a [shutdown]. There’s not at this time,” Boozel said. “I know they’re not looking at broad brushes like they did before– when it was red, yellow, green.”
State Secretary of Health Dr. Rachel Levine also echoed those same sentiments at a press conference earlier this week.
“We have a universal masking order in place. We have decreased capacity to 50 percent for indoor dining at restaurant. And we have limitations for large gatherings on indoor and outdoor events,” Levine said. “What we want to do is to double down on the mitigation orders that we do have in place to prevent the spread.”
As for what it would take to introduce new mitigation efforts, Levine said the state is having those conversations but nothing is official.
