Even though Christmas is over, many people will still be getting together for parties and festivities. But this time of year can also be a struggle for some people.
Jennifer Smith is the Secretary of the state’s Department of Drug and Alcohol and she says the state offers resources for those who need it.
“For some Pennsylvanians the holidays are a time to remember those missing from the table at our family gatherings for the first time,” Smith said. “And for some, it can be overwhelmingly difficult.”
The department has a toll free hotline of 1-800-622-HELP that is open 24 hours a day and staffed with experts.
