Officials in the Pennsylvania State Department are reminding residents about their rights with regard to Tuesday’s primary election.
In Pennsylvania’s primary, only registered Republicans and Democrats are allowed to vote for candidates in each party which will then determine who appears on the ballot for November’s General Election.
First time voters or those voting for the first time at a new precinct must show ID. Voters who applied for and received a mail ballot can still vote at the polls as long as they bring the mail ballot including the outer return envelope with them to be voided.
Anyone who experiences intimidation should report it to the county board of elections.
The deadline for county election boards to receive completed mail ballots is 8 p.m. Tuesday. A postmark by that time does not count.
