State officials say an awareness campaign that launched earlier this year has led to more calls about parents leaving children in cars while they gamble.
The “Don’t Gamble With Kids” campaign started in November following reports that adults were leaving children in vehicles while they gambled in casinos.
The Gaming Control Board says in just the past two months, there have been nearly 300 reported incidents of kids being left alone inside cars at casinos. The calls are coming mostly from casino patrons and employees.
Parents or guardians can be arrested for leaving children alone and could also be banned for life from any casino in Pennsylvania.
