It’s a great weekend to enjoy some outdoor activities at our local State Parks.
On Saturday, McConnells Mill is hosting a program about hydropower and the Slippery Rock Creek from 9 to 10 a.m. at the Mill Courtyard. Visitors will be able to learn about the history of hydropower from the original mill in 1852 to current uses of this renewable energy source in the local watershed.
On Sunday, Moraine State Park is offering a presentation called Venomous Snakes of PA from 1 to 3 p.m. at Pavilion 7 on the North Shore of Lake Arthur. Participants will have a chance to hear more about the important role of snakes in the environment with the opportunity to interact with live snakes.
