More details are emerging from the attempted assassination of former President Donald Trump.
State Police Commissioner Christopher Paris testified in Washington D.C. yesterday that local law enforcement spotted Thomas Crooks about a half hour before the rally started.
A member of local police, although it was not clarified what particular agency, spotted the shooter Thomas Crooks. That message was relayed to state police, who then alerted Secret Service about the suspicious person. State police were told to text the photo to a phone number. Less than a half-hour after that text was sent, Crooks opened fire on the rally.
Body camera footage was also released by Sen. Chuck Grasserly’s office yesterday and it shows local officers talking with investigators after Crooks was killed. In the video, it says that members of Beaver County’s Emergency Service Unit spotted Crooks earlier and went to look for him. However, they lost track of him by the time Crooks had gotten onto the roof.
