It’s been one week since the Memorial Day holiday weekend began, and the Pennsylvania State Police have released their numbers regarding crashes.
Three people were killed and about 180 injured during the four-day long weekend. Police say alcohol was a factor in 70 of the 800 crashes, including one fatal collision.
More than 16,000 speeding tickets were issued to drivers and 1,500 people were cited for not wearing seat belts.
During last year’s Memorial Day weekend, nine people died.
