State police say there was a significant increase in the number of illegal drugs seized this past year.
Around $72 million in drugs were confiscated by state police in 2021—that’s nearly twice the amount seized in 2019.
Cocaine made up a significant amount of the seized drugs at nearly 1,000 pounds—which is valued at just over $21 million.
The total for fentanyl was also higher than 2019, accounting for nearly 530 pounds of collections.
