The amount of revenue the state brought in during March was slightly more than expected.
The Department of Revenue announced that collections totaled $6.2 billion last month.
This is over 1% more than anticipated, but the fiscal year-to-date collections are below estimate by a fraction of a percent.
Sales tax receipts continue to be a driver of revenue, bringing in $1.1 billion in March which is about $36 million under estimate. Personal income tax revenue was $1.6 billion and corporation tax revenue was $3 billion. The Motor License Fund which includes gas taxes collected nearly $207 million last month, slightly less than anticipated but the yearly total remains over 3% more than estimated.
