State officials say a new school safety program is seeing impactful results after its first six months.
The Office of the Attorney General said that over 20,000 tips have been received through the “Safe 2 Say Something” online anonymous threat reporting program that began in January of this year.
“The program was established as a way for students to report signs of classmates who may be at risk of hurting themselves or others,” Attorney General Josh Shapiro said.
A majority of the tips were in regards to bullying, self-harm, and suicides according to the report.
Most of the tips are sent through the Safe 2 Say Something mobile app—which is free.
