The state Senate is continuing their investigation into the 2020 election, and is now subpoenaing information on Pennsylvania voters.
Along a party line vote, the Senate’s Intergovernmental Operations Committee will subpoena all communications from the Department of State of to county officials, election training materials, and lists that contain voters name, address, drivers license numbers, and the last four digit of social security numbers.
Republican state Senator Chris Dush is heading up the investigation.
“There have been questions regarding the validity of people who have voted, whether or not they exist. We are not responding to proven allegations, we are investigating the allegations to determine whether or not they are factual,” Dush said.
Democratic Senator Jay Costa asked who will have access to the subpoenaed information.
“Who will have access to that personal information? What will they do with it? And [what are] any type of limitation with respect to what they should do with it moving forward,” Costa asked at the committee vote.
Attorney General Josh Shapiro said he opposes the subpoenas and vowed to get involved to prevent private voters information to possibly going to vendors.
