Pennsylvania’s will see a reduction to the gas tax starting in the new year.
The gas tax rate will be going down from 61.1 cents per gallon to 57.6 cents per gallon and the diesel tax rate will drop from 78.5 cents per gallon to 74.1 cents per gallon. The tax rate is going down due to decreasing wholesale prices.
The Pennsylvania independent Fiscal Office released a report that gas consumption is below pre-pandemic levels but attributes that to work from home options and electric vehicles.
