Those looking for a sweet way to celebrate National Dairy Month need look no further than the return of the Pennsylvania Ice Cream Trail.
The 6th annual Ice Cream Trail in the Keystone State is a partnership between dairy farm families, small businesses that source from them, the PA Department of Community and Economic Development’s Tourism Office, and the Center for Dairy Excellence.
Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture Secretary Russell Redding says the trail is a connection between the farmers and 42 total creameries involved, including a few in western Pennsylvania.
“We come together to enjoy 42 stops across Pennsylvania to enjoy ice cream. Whether you want the 42 dips of ice cream or cones or however you want to eat, make sure to enjoy the stories that come with each of the stops on the trail. Each will tell their own story,” Redding said.
Participants who visit six shops along the trail can earn a special stainless-steel ice-cream scooper. More information is available online through the VisitPA website.
